On the day Hakeem turned seven months, he started testing his boundaries with crawling and pulling himself up to stand and I actually made a video of him three days ago capturing his efforts. Since WordPress is a bit karit and wouldn’t let me upload the video on here unless I pay them, I can only link you to the video. So click here to watch that video.

He wasn’t quite crawling or standing up yet in that video but he’s been practising ever since and yesterday he did look like he figured out how to move forwards in the crawling position. I also found him standing up all of a sudden by pulling himself up on his walker toy and sometimes the sofa which is pretty cool (and sometimes worrying to be honest!). So today I made a video of him crawling to his walker toy and standing up. You can see that video here.

Babies grow too quickly! Soon he’ll be walking and without warning he’d be a teenager and then going to uni and getting married and stuff. Sigh!

Seven Months Old

Hakeem is seven months old today – SEVEN! Yikes! I know I say this every time, but where does time go? Anyways, on to his milestones:

  • He can sit down completely unsupported now. He knows how to move from the sitting position on to his front.
  • He’s not crawling yet and is still shuffling around on his belly. But he can get on all fours now in a crawling position, except he doesn’t know how to move forward quite yet. And he gets frustrated and cries when he can’t move forward! It’s quite amusing. Heehee.
  • He’s starting to pull himself up on anything now as per previous post!
  • He can sleep by himself in his cot and he likes to sleep on his front!
  • He’s showing resistance by protesting whenever we take something away from him. In other words, makin belabih sudah ya!
  • He’s still practising his fine motor skills. He can grab the smallest things now – he especially loves wires which is quite a nightmare! We have to put pillows all around the living room to (a) cushion his falls and (b) cover the forbidden items like wires!
  • He’s still eating twice a day and drinking milk as often.
  • He (and us, really) are completely dependant on Chuggington. He’ll only finish his bowl of lunch if Chuggington is on, otherwise he’ll just be too bored! Lol.

Ok, that’s it for now. Blog again soon!

Head Bumps

Hakeem has bumped his head quite a few times this week and I’m very upset about it. But it just can’t be helped because he keeps trying to stand up, but obviously his legs are still wobbly so he ends up falling down. =( He grabs on absolutely anything to try and stand up as you can see from the bad-quality pictures below. And he won’t sit still for long before he gets bored and tries to stand up again. Sigh!

But I think it’s unfair to restrict his development and not let him exercise his legs right? So we just have to have cushions surrounding him every time he’s out of his exersaucer and roaming around the room, or one of us has to be physically next to him at all times! =/
